Caring for people's eyes in Long Eaton, Nottingham and Derby since 1985

Regular Eye Examinations with Jaysons Opticians are an essential part of taking care of your eyes and general health. An eye examination can pick up early signs of potentially blinding eye conditions such as glaucoma and detect underlying health problems, for example high blood pressure and diabetes. The earlier a problem is detected the greater the chance of successful treatment.

The Optometrist will check whether your eye sight needs correcting with spectacles or contact lenses. Having good vision means a better quality of life. For young people good eye sight is vital for learning and development.  Drivers must ensure that they meet the DVLAs legal requirement for vision.

General advice

The prescribing and dispensing of spectacles are very closely linked and it is in your best interest to have your spectacles dispensed where you have your eyes examined. It is often more difficult to resolve any problems you may have with your spectacles when prescribing and supply are separated.
